Chris Hassett
Chris Hassett,
Kenny Ard, Sue Palmer, Drew Massicot, Kay Etheridge and many more musicians
will put on a night of music at First Unitarian-Universalist Church of San
Diego, 4190 Front Street (Hillcrest, across from UCSD Hospital), Friday, July
20.
Marking the 25th
anniversary of a concert series that has raised money for AIDS support
organizations, the “Friends and Lovers” concert will benefit the UCSD Owen
Clinic and the San Ysidro Health Center.
“I was in the
first concert,” Hassett told Zenger’s Newsmagazine in a forthcoming interview about his current CD, This
I Promise You. “We did it through the late
1980’s and mid-1990’s, and always chose organizations bringing assistance to
people with AIDS or people who needed help. We haven’t held the concert in a
few years, but this is the 25th anniversary and we felt we should
commemorate it. We’re going to put on a fun show.”
The concert will
start at 7:30 p.m. The suggested donation is $10.
